I once wrote a (moderately successful) blog called Silent Volume, dedicated to silent film, a major interest of mine. And like a lot of people, I eventually left my blog behind. Blogs are a lot of work. But I produced some good stuff there, and through it met some good friends. Below are links to some of the better essays from that site, as well as some pieces I wrote for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival. I hope you enjoy them.
His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz (1914)
Felix Doubles for Darwin (1924)
All Quiet on the Western Front (silent version) (1930)
Washerwomen on the River (1896)
